I need to talk abit about Fever Ray. Her vocals is so amazing it gives me endless goosebumps whenever i listen to the Tiga remix of triangle walks. And Tiga…dammit, he made the song so epic, the kinda rave-induced tribal experience, the first time I heard it over at Zouk…I just stood still and listen to every beat attentively cause its those songs you can tell from the start that it’s made to drive people delirious.
Went home and did the geeky stuffs, found out that Fever Ray is actually the vocalist for an old favourite Royksopp track, you know the one with the Stuart Price remix that is every self respecting dance music enthusiast’s holy grail back in 2005
So here’s an NT89 edit of Tiga’s remix, he just sped it up and added the ravey kickdrums and flangers, trying to make it more 2nd summer of love. Works effectively in my opinion but nowhere near how Tiga killed it, do have a listen to the remix I’m talking about from the mixtape of my previous post. It’s the closing track.

folks I’m back! Hopefully, not back for awhile and then gone again kinda back. Apologies for the unannounced hiatus, took a lil’ break from blogging but am still following the music closely. So here I bring to you one of the remixes from the much anticipated The Faint‘s Mirror Error single. (the only one that probably won’t get me in Web Sheriff’s territory anyway.) Please do yourself a favour and buy the really bloody fricking amazing Das Glow remix over HERE, highly highly highly recommended (I myself spend the money to get my copy and it is damn well worth it!) Now I just wana hear it on like a million dollar soundsystem.

Steve Angello came up with a live mash-up of Eurythmics during the Swedish House Mafia set at the Manchester Warehouse Project. Although he kinda trainwreck a little by introducing beats that are not really suitable in the middle of it, I was totally blown away how well the 2 tracks go together. Now I’ve done a remix of the mash-up (complicated isn’t it?) with a some techno/house, b-more touch in it.

The new Zombie Nation album better be coming out faster. I’ve just got a copy of their new single ‘Worth It” with “Sick is the New Healthy” on the b-side and it is way awesome! As of now I am unsure if these would be on the album but I’m guessing not as they sound more like ‘version’ tracks which are more useful for DJs instead of being on the radio. I also dug out a minimix of samples from the new album which is coming out on the same day as Prodigy’s “Invaders Must Die.”
Zombie Nation – Worth It
Zombie Nation – Minimix Teaser of Zombielicious

The whole of Southern Asia and Australia are so psyched that The Prodigy would be dropping by next month. This new album’s gona be epic, my hearing’s is definately not as good as half an hour ago after I trashed my eardrums blasting their new single. You should too.

Legend has it that Frankie Knuckles and friends created house music in the “Warehouse” club in Chicago. Then three college nerds from Detroit messed with the elements of it and came up with the first real techno. After these tunes got into the radar of Europeans, the world of dance music and night clubs were never the same. Here are two of the classical gems from the Detroit Techno genre.

Our favourite musical genius has been very quiet lately but thankfully Erol Alkan reminded us how kickass he is with his ‘simple yet effective edit.’ I can’t wait for new tracks from SebastiAn so here’s a few for you guys to remember his awesomeness when he almost blowed Zouk’s soundsystem last may.
SebastiAn – Momy (Erol Alkan’s Simple, Yet Effective Edit) *****
Sebastien Tellier – Sexual Sportswear (SebastiAn Remix) ****
SebastiAn – Motor ****
Das Pop – Fool For Love (SebastiAn Remix)
Bloc Party – I Still Remember (SebastiAn Remix)
Now it feels so good that so many Sebastians are awesome musicians. (Sebastien Tellier, Sebo K, Seb Fontaine, Sebastian Leger)

These boys from the Netherlands are one of the most respected artistes in the drum and bass scene. However, they also make the hardest hitting rave-electro tracks. Noisia‘s ‘Yellow Brick’ is one of the most epic song I’ve came across and it’s so damn good! With recognition from DJs like Soulwax, Justice, MSTRKRFT and many others, we can be sure that Noisia is no fluke. You have to take a listen.

Hope everyone had a smashing time counting down to 2009 last night. I had an awesome time with this IDC mash up of The Prodigy and Boys Noize. I can tell you, there’s nothing better than starting a brand new year raving to The Prodigy. You folks can remember IDC from last year’s Readysetglo where he played an amazing set at Zouk. Lately, he’s been busy with his new album which you can check it out here.
The Prodigy & Boys Noize – Invaders Must Dance (IDC Mixup) <—Highly Highly Recommended!!!
I’ve also got a few more Prodigy which has surfaced lately. Can’t wait for their concert come february.

Greetings! Happiest of New Years to everyone who’ve been popping by once in awhile since this blog started somewhere during September. As of this moment, there have been 2100 clicks in the space of 3 months. I am very happy with the statistics, but most of all, I’ve been really stoked at having the opportunity to share these music that I like to everyone round the world.
Every year round this time, music bloggers all over the world would lose a whole lotta hair stressing themselves to come up with their own top 10 lists. Many people would not see the point cause almost everyone’s doing it, but I’d be doing it too because it will put a good fullstop to this great year and then have a firm reminder of songs that I’ve played over and over and over during 2008. So here it is.
Monkeyclapeducation’s 10 Best of 2008
10. Simian Mobile Disco – Run
In collabo with Nike and I’ve mentioned that it sounds really like Kraftwerk’s Tour De France, caught them this year (very happy to see them) and I went nuts when they played this one nearing the end of the set.
Here’s the full version and my edit of it.

09. Patrice Baumel – Roar
Roar is like the best ever DJ Tool ever made. When this song’s up, I’d take a break from the banging kick drums and then close my eyes to hear it. Sometimes it sounds like trains, sometimes it sounds like V12 Engine, but it always sounds very damn good!

08. Eine Kleine Nacht Musik – La Serenissima
Riton is so underrated! And I’m dying to see his Eine Kleine Nacht Musik project get big. It will teach kids these days about every intricasy of krautrock, what made it sounds so smooth. La Serenissima has all of it.
Get it here.

07. Dj Mujava – Township Funk
Various DJs with who toured Africa regularly has been playing this one ever since 07. However, it only got released by Warp and got big in the UK this year. Been playing it non stop ever since this got into my radar!

06. Tiga & Zyntherius – Sunglasses at Night (Black Devil Disco Club Mix)
The original is so mysteriously kitschy, and new up and comers Black Devil turn it into acid disco! Tiga’s so big this year together with releases of Mind Dimension and Worm, and Black Devil is really gona make the headlines, matter of when.
Here!

05. Minilogue – Jamaica (Dubfire Remix)
This track is incredibly sick. Minimal house has never ever been this good! You have to listen to the whole damn 13 minutes and count the times you orgased.
Here it is.

04. Late of the Pier – Focker (Boys Noize Terror Remix)
We’re all very thankful to Late of the Pier for single handedly killing every new raver. The idea of being in a rock band is to not conform to layman knowledge and ideas of how things should sound and LotP totally defines this idea with their incredible album. With a little help from Alex Ridha, they’ve this legendary song.
Late of the Pier – Focker (Boys Noize Terror Remix)

03. Mystery Jets – Two Doors Down (Duke Dumont Reconstruction)
The most incredible breakdown of 2008. And mind you, 2008 sees many songs with very awesome breakdowns. This Duke Dumont remix of Mystery Jets (dropping by sunny lil Singapore for the next RSG) beats them all by a whole full notch.
Mystery Jets – Two Doors Down (Duke Dumont Reconstruction)

02. Dj Mehdi – Pocket Piano (Joakim Berger Remix)
Simply stirs your stomach whenever this one is played in a club. You find yourself suddenly in tights holding ray guns like science fiction movies from the 80s.
I have it here.

01. Popof – The Chomper (LSD Version)
And finally! Popof is another DJ that’s grossly underated! Allow me to emphasize it again, Popof is immensely underrated! For me, he’s songs and skills are definately up at the level of Sasha’s and Richie Hawtin’s. If you’ve stumbled across this list in anyway and never heard of Popof before in your life. I urge you to please download and have a listen!
Popof – The Chomper (LSD Version)
The 5 Other That Got Very Close
C’mon it’s insane to come up with just 10 songs with my shortlist having close to 60 songs, so here’s the 5 other that should’ve made it but didn’t.
Friendly Fires feat. Au Revoir Simone – Paris (Aeroplane Remix)
Sebastien Tellier – L’Amour Et La Violence
Sebo Sebo’s 2008 Best Work

In no particular order, these 3 are my favourite of all the mixtapes I’ve concocted during ’08.
Tsotsitaal Mixtape
Ravelicks 10 : The Very Melodic One
Ennui on the Wild Side
Here’s the first piece of news for 2009. Monkey Clap Education has been aggregated on Elbows, it feels pretty damn good actually, I’ve always been a big fan of Elbows and have been following the site since a few years ago to get updates from the good music blogs. Now that Monkey Clap’s on it, feels like I’m with the big boys now. Do stay tuned and subscribe to my rss, I hope to keep going at this pace next year, expect lots more! Once again, a very Happy New Year. Go easy on the booze tonight.
-Sebastian.
